Child Trends Workshop Series on Becoming an Evidence-Based Program
Friday, September 21st, 2012
10:30am2:00pm | FREE!
We would like to invite you to participate in the Child Trends Workshop Series on Becoming an Evidence-Based Program. Our goal is to assist out-of-school-time programs that would like to develop or further an evidence base for their program. Each workshop will be led by research staff members with expertise in out-of-school time programs and will feature many of the resources Child Trends has developed especially for program providers (see: www.childtrends.org/LINKS). These Workshops are funded by the Alexander and Margaret Stewart Trust Foundation.

The Workshops are specifically designed for senior-level staff of organizations with out-of-school time programs that have not yet been rigorously evaluated (through an experimental or rigorous quasi-experimental evaluation). The Workshops will be hands-on, small, and will provide practical steps providers can take to build their programs evidence base. Topics covered will include logic models/theories of change, types of evaluations and how they can be used, performance management, outcomes, and making evidence-based practices happen.

We are excited for the opportunity to convene selected program representatives and assist them in addressing both the challenges and opportunities of growing the evidence base for their programs. Previous participants have expressed their enthusiasm in joining the workshop series.

These workshops have been amazing and have assisted me in understanding why evaluation is so important. The workshops have also fostered relationship between participants in this workshop series and have created excellent resources in the nonprofit community.
