STORY CONTEST: LIFE'S TUITION
Stories about expensive lessons.
IMPORTANT: Seating cannot be guaranteed for any ticket holder after 9:10. Line forms approx. 8:30 and doors open at 8:45.
RULES: Our 3 expert judges will consider all story submissions before the contest begins and decide which stories they most wish to hear.
Tellers have a maximum 7 minutes to tell a true story on the theme Life's Tuition: Stories about expensive lessons.
At 6 minutes you will receive a signal that you only have 1 minute left.
The winner will be announced at the end of the night and will receive $100 cash as a prize. The audience will also select its favorite!

ABOUT STORY LEAGUE:
Since March 2011, Story League has presented sold-out shows all around the D.C. area. Founded by writer/performer SM Shrake (The Moth storyslam winner, This American Life) along with author and journalist Cathy Alter (Up for Renewal),Story League offers a collaborative storytelling experience, in which the participants all help one another hone their craft leading up to a show. Story League has proudly brought in talent from New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore to join its local performers. The group often meets socially for mixers (open to all), and anyone is welcome to try out for the curated shows by attending a Story Circle. Every third Wednesday of the month and fourth Sunday of the month, Story League holds Story Contests in partnership with Busboys and Poets, where the public can come try their hand at telling a 7-minute story onstage for a chance to win a $100 cash prize.
