Vintage Holiday is a girl with a guitar. Omote Ekwotafia started singing when she started speaking and songwriting soon after, but she didnt pick up a guitar until years later. After a lifetime of learning and growing, VH was born: a clash between the simplicity of 60s music and the depth of poetic musicians.
Oust

The five-piece indie-folk band Oust was born under the streetlights of Columbia Heights after an overbooked open mic 1 Monday in September. Now, singer/songwriters Michael Erisman & Ben Mericli counter each others driving guitar lines with mandolin chops & banjo wails, even a reed flute at times; Laurel Halsey locks the quintets eclectic sound down with close-honed vocal harmonies, bells, accordion, & keys. Bassist Ray Remesch and drummer Gavin Wilde deliver the tunes in an irresistible groove-tastic package. The result is a lyrical bloom of melodies as catchy as their countermelodies, story-driven songs to make feet stomp & lone hearts drop.
