The first of many community gatherings exploring the history and changing demographics of Washington DC and beyond, Georgia Avenue: Communities in Transition, will explore residents & stakeholders use of a yet to be launched, interactive website to share historic information [voice, written & visual] of communities intersected by a street that serves as their central residential, commercial, institutional and transportation corridor full of life and vigor!
It is our intention to use GeorgiaAvenue.net as an interactive online environment for residents to document their communitys past, explore current issues/ideas and imagine its future through innovative use of technology tools!
Georgia Avenue: Communities in Transition is organized by CA-FAM III, Inc. / East River Jazz, as a part of its Conversations About Culture series.
Conversations About Culture is part of Art4All DC taking place September 6 October 21 in celebration of arts, performance, and community. Art4All DC, led by Cultural Tourism DC in collaboration with the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities with the support of media partner The Washington Examiner, is a city-wide collaboration that convenes arts organizations and artists to present and initiate participation in the arts across all four quadrants of the District. Art4All DC aims to promote arts in the neighborhoods and stress the economic impact of the arts.
